Exploring a remote section of South America's final frontier is much more than an adventure. This is one of the most isolated and challenging environments on Earth, a place where very few people have ever set foot. Mitre Peninsula is home to unique natural and cultural treasures, including seabird colonies, marine mammals, peat bogs, wetlands, and traces of both Indigenous peoples and the earliest explorations of Tierra del Fuego Island.
This trekking expedition offers every element of a true wilderness adventure: river crossings, hiking with wet feet, camping on remote beaches along the southernmost sea in the world, climbing mountains at the very end of the Andes Range, and discovering remarkable landscapes as well as cultural and paleontological heritage.
In the past, this region was inhabited by the Indigenous Haush and Selk'nam (Ona) peoples, whose presence remains an important part of the peninsula's history and identity.
