Mount Sosneado has striking peculiarities. It is one of the mountains over 5000 meters above sea level and the most southern in the world although its access is not so complicated. It is located opposite the famous Vallede las Lagrima, where the famous rubgiers airplane crashed.The landscape that surrounds it has a singular and haunting beauty.
Our expedition proposes to know its wilderness while trying to reach his prized summit over 5100 meters.
Day 1- Refugio El Soler (2200 masl) : Meeting in El Sosneado at 1 pm.Easy access by San Rafael or Malargüe by bus . We take a transfer going through the upper valley of the Atuel River. Arrival at the abandoned hotel Sosneado and then to the shelter of Gendarmeria El Soler, 2200 masl. First Campsite.
Day 2: Beginning of the trek into the valley to start gradually gaining height. We will reach our second campsite at about 3300 masl on the northwest side of the mountain. Dinner Overnight.
Day 3: Acclimatization day. We will stay in this second camp and we might do some hikes in the area and rest.
Day 4: Breakfast. We will continue ascending to search the third camp, about 4000 meters above sea level, on top of the valley. The views are stunning around us. Set up camp, hydration and rest. From here we can see part of the way to the summit.
Day 5: Breakfast. Acclimatization day. We will prepare our equipment for the summit day. Hydration and overnight
Day 6: Summit day (5179 MASL). We will wake up very early to have a better chance to get to the summit. If the weather conditions are suitable, the group will be arriving there before noon. Photos and celebration. Descent to the camp.
Day 7: We will pick up camp and descent across the valley. In the afternoon we will arrive at the end of the valley and private transfer to El Sosneado. End of our services
